"I have been working as a curator for more than 20 years and attend the annual meetings of CIMAM three times in the past. It had always been inspiring to know what others are doing and thinking.
Also, I start to teach curatorial studies at graduate school so I become more aware of how the curatorial practice will be in the future. This is the moment that we should understand what is happening both inside and outside museums, so I hope CIMAM will provide more opportunities to think about our future with colleagues around the world."

- As a senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (MOT), he has curated the exhibition Tadashi Kawamata: Walkway, 2008.
- He worked for NTT InterCommunication Center (ICC) in Tokyo, where he organized the exhibitions Art Meets Media: Adventure in Perception, 2005, and Possible Futures: Japanese Postwar Art and Technology, 2005.
- He is co-editor of From Postwar to Postmodern, Art in Japan 1945-1989: Primary Documents, Museum of Modern Art New York/ Duke University Press, 2012.
