Registration to CIMAM 2026
30 April — CIMAM officially opens general registration to attend the 2026 CIMAM Annual Conference, taking place on 20-22 November in Harare, Zimbabwe, hosted by the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. This marks the first time in its 58 editions that a CIMAM Conference will be held on the African continent.
Under the title Museums Beyond Limits: Imagining Repair Across Cultures, Ecologies and Knowledges, the conference proposes repair as a radical, plural, and ongoing practice grounded in relationality, care, and accountability. Read the Conference Abstract and the Daily Abstracts here.
Registration will remain open until 30 September 2026, unless the conference reaches full capacity and places are sold out earlier. In past years, all spots were fully booked by the end of July. We recommend registering early to secure your place.
Before reserving your room and flight, please ensure you have received confirmation from the CIMAM Executive Office that your place at the Conference is confirmed.

The conference is primarily addressed to directors and curators of modern and contemporary art museums, as well as researchers and independent curators whose work engages with contemporary art theory, collections, and museum practice. Priority is given to CIMAM members.
The CIMAM Executive Office reserves the right to place your registration on hold if the payment does not match the selected option or if the professional profile does not meet the required criteria.
Cancellation Policies:
- Fully refundable before 1 August 2026
- 50% refundable between 1 and 15 August 2026
- Non-refundable after 15 August 2026
- Reimbursements do not cover travel, accommodation, visa, or any additional costs
- Registration is considered confirmed once payment has been received in full. If payment is not received in full within 30 days of registration, the spot will be released
