Aline Ambrosio

Biography

Aline Ambrosio is a Brazilian Indigenous Guarani curator, researcher, exhibition designer, architect, and university lecturer. With more than eight years of academic research experience, her work focuses on museums, curatorship, exhibition design, and decolonial practices grounded in Global South perspectives and counternarratives.

She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in architecture and Urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP), where her research examines transformations in museums through the intersections of curatorship and exhibition design in response to the decolonial turn and the inclusion of historically marginalized voices. She holds postgraduate degrees in Architecture and Urbanism and Sustainability from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), as well as undergraduate degrees in Architecture and Urbanism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas) and Environmental Design from the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG).

Her practice positions curatorship and exhibition design as interdependent critical fields informed by Afro-diasporic perspectives, Indigenous epistemologies, ecological frameworks, and Global South approaches. She understands exhibitions as epistemological platforms and curatorial practice as a means of institutional transformation and processes of repair.

Ambrosio has developed curatorial and exhibition design projects with leading Brazilian institutions, including Instituto Moreira Salles (IMS), Pinacoteca de São Paulo, Museu Nacional da República, Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB), CAIXA Cultural, Museu Oscar Niemeyer (MON), SESC São Paulo, and the Institute of Contemporary Art São Paulo (IAC).

Her recent projects include Reimagining the Amazon (Instituto Moreira Salles, São Paulo, 2026); Spirits of the Forest (MAHKU, CAIXA Cultural Belém, official program of COP30); Interspecies: Crossing Worlds (13th 3M Art Show, 2024); Kapewe Pukeni Huni Kuin: Crossing Worlds (Galeria do Largo Amazônia, 2024); Botânica Tirânica by Giselle Beiguelman (SESC São Paulo, 2023); and Signs of Resistance: Borders of Memory (Museu Nacional da República, 2023).

In addition to her curatorial practice, Ambrosio lectures in postgraduate programs on curatorship, exhibition design, and museum studies.
