Asli Samadova, Curator and Founder of Ta(r)dino 6 Art Platform, self-organised art initiative in Baku, Azerbaijan.
She has been encouraged to join CIMAM by another longlasting CIMAM member Shaarbek Amankul, Artist and founder of Б’Art Contemporary.
Ta(r)dino 6 Art Platform caught international attention with Turandokht. Radio Riddles migrating sound installation that was labelled the ‘Azerbaijan’s second national pavilion’ during the professional preview of the 58th Venice Biennial by James Bradburne, director of Pinacoteca di Brera. In September 2019 Ta(r)dino 6 was selected to Trans Europe Halles (TEH) 2020 Startup Program.
Programs to date include commissioned site-specific artworks, artist talks, professional coaching and workshops by local and international artists and curators to help grow Baku’s emerging art community. Ta(r)dino 6 supports the discourse on Azerbaijani contemporary art within international context, with a special focus on gender, identity and equality in the art world. Ta(r)dino 6 currently works on capacity building initiatives and in spring 2021 launches the Cultural Accelerator - series of free online workshops and lectures to benefit the art professionals from Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia.
