CIMAM encourages contemporary art museum professionals to add their institutions and take part in the Slow Art Day initiative on 10 April 2021, an initiative that promotes a slow visit to selected pieces of art.

Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.

Why slow? When people look slowly at a piece of art, they make discoveries. It unlocks passion and creativity and helps to create more art lovers.

Celebrate Slow Art Day by being a host. As host, you invite people to come to a local museum or gallery and view a small number of works on their own, followed by a group discussion of the viewing experience. All this happens at venues around the world on the same day each year – Saturday, April 10, 2021.
