71% of CIMAM's members are women working in modern and contemporary art, independently or in cultural institutions.

On this year's International Women's Day 2022, CIMAM wants to recognize the role of women not only as professionals in the museum field but also for their courage, bravery, and strength to come forward, now more than ever, in protecting their families and their rights, in extreme situations, such as it is a war.

International Women's Day has been officially celebrated every March 8 since 1975, when the United Nations declared it. It brings the whole world together under the slogan "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow," as the vital link between gender, social equity, and climate change has been more than proven, demonstrating that without gender equality today, a sustainable future, an equal future, remains out of reach.

The theme of the IWD 2022 campaign is #BreakTheBias, to imagine a world with gender equality.

At CIMAM, 71% of us are professional women working in modern and contemporary art, independently or in cultural institutions around the world.

Join CIMAM now and be part of a network where women and men are driven by values of equality, diversity, and inclusion, supporting each other to grow towards a common goal, the sustainability of our planet from an economic, social, and environmental point of view.
