Ateneum Art Museum
The Ateneum is Finland’s most renowned art museum. Our collection spans from the 18th century to Modernism. In total, our collection includes nearly 30,000 national treasures.
Our exhibitions showcase international and Finnish art. Paired with our topical research, our exhibitions provide new information and perspectives to our visitors.
We also encourage our visitors to engage in the different encounters our museum offers. You can converse, listen to music, create art, investigate and be inspired.
Our museum attracts thousands of children and young people every year. Our rich educational programme brings art to schools to form part of children’s school work.
Together with the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma and the Sinebrychoff Art Museum, we form the Finnish National Gallery. The Finnish National Gallery is Finland’s largest art museum institution and its operations are governed by special legislation.
