Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art in Nusantara (MACAN)
At Museum MACAN, we're passionate about making art accessible to everyone in Indonesia. Under the guidance of Nin Djani, our Curator of Education and Public Programs, we're constantly developing educational initiatives that are inspired by our ongoing exhibitions, ensuring they resonate with our diverse audience. These initiatives, which include museum guides and public programs, serve as insightful interpretations of our exhibitions, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the art. Our flagship initiative, Children’s Art Space, provides interactive experiences tailored for young visitors, while our Sponsored School Visit (SSV) programs prioritize schools with limited resources, offering transportation, tickets, snacks, and guided tours for up to 100 students and teachers per visit. Looking ahead to 2024, we're excited to introduce the Sign Language Guide (SLG), enhancing accessibility for visitors with hearing impairments. This innovative approach is woven into all aspects of our museum activities, from conservation and education to exhibition programs and accessibility, as we strive to fulfill MACAN's mission of democratizing art and fostering engagement with diverse communities.
