The CIMAM Award for Outstanding Museum Practice recognizes exceptional practices in modern and contemporary art museums across the globe. Established in 2021, this award acknowledges innovative, accesible and sustainable methods in various fields, including conservation, education, exhibitions, publications, research, public access, communication, governance, sustainability, and fundraising.

Its purpose is to inspire and assist professionals in the international modern and contemporary art museum community by showcasing exemplary practices.

Biographies

Analía Solomonoff

Since 2016, she has served as the director of the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes “Rosa Galisteo de Rodríguez” (Provincial Fine Arts Museum) in Santa Fe, Argentina. Under her leadership the Rosa Galisteo Museum won the Ibermuseos Educational Award (Honorable Mention, “Museo Tomado”) in 2019, and in 2022, it received the Konex Award for Visual Arts and was also recognized by the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art (CiMAM) for its “Outstanding Museum Practices”, which noted the institution’s innovative management. She has been selected to serve as a jury member on various occasions, most notably for the open call to select the project that represented Argentina in the 59th Venice Biennale. Previously, she served as subdirector for the Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros museum and the Proyecto Siqueiros: La Tallera museum, and was the coordinator of the Carrillo Gil Art Museum’s Forum for Contemporary Editions and the “Radicante. Intercambio de prácticas culturales México-Argentina” Project, a program of cultural exchange practices between Mexico and Argentina. She is a cultural manager, curator and professor.

Altaci Corrêa Rubim

Altaci Corrêa Rubim, indigenous name Tataiya Kokama, Doctor in linguistics, member of the world WG of the Decade of Indigenous Languages organized by UNESCO, professor of the Department of Linguistics, Portuguese and Classical Languages of UnB, president of the Organization of Kokama Lua Verde Indigenous Women-OMIK, coordinator of the Center for Traditional Sciences and Knowledge Kokama Lua Verde. Researcher of the Project New Social Cartography of the Amazon-PNCSA/UEA. She has worked for over 15 years with the movement of vitalization of the Kokama language and with the production of physical and digital bilingual didactic materials.

Eric Booth

Eric Booth has collected Thai contemporary art since the early 1990s. He founded MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai, in 2016 to share his collection. Recently, he opened MAIELIE, Khonkean, in the Northeast of Thailand.

He is also a trustee of the James HW Thompson Foundation, a non profit organisation that looks after the Jim Thompson House Museum and the Jim Thompson Art Center in Bangkok. Future projects include transforming the Jim Thompson Farm into an intersection of sericulture and silk weaving, tangible and intangible Isan cultural heritage and contemporary art.
