MMCA Roundtable: Museums in the Time of Pandemic

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) held an online seminar entitled Museums in the Time of Pandemic, on June 22, 2020.

The roundtable gathered experts to explore the role of museums in this unprecedented crisis caused by the global pandemic.

The discussion addressed the following main issues:

• Challenges that museums are facing due to COVID-19
• Paradigm shift toward digital museums
• Museums' role as physical spaces and platforms

The event was recorded, edited, and released to the public via the museum's official Youtube channel on the 20th of July, and has been receiving many responses and feedback from the Korean art scene.

We are happy to share the event among our CIMAM members, and therefore continue inspiring our contemporary art community, generating further discussions on this relevant subject.
