A reflection of our culture, the strength of the human spirit, and a lens with which to understand society museums are essential. While the global pandemic has been extremely challenging, the situation has forced museums to reinvent themselves and evolve as a consequence. It is our hope that this growth can also be environmentally friendly.

As an international organization dedicated to promoting best practices in modern and contemporary art museums, environmental sustainability is one of the leading and most urgent aspects we should take care of. CIMAM wants to do its bit by raising awareness and responding to the evolving needs of the profession.

It is part of our mission to foster change and facilitate our members the resources, tools, guides, and innovative examples that contribute to reducing the museums’ carbon print and its negative impacts on our planet.
