We’re excited to kick off the new season of CIMAM Connects! These sessions are designed exclusively for CIMAM members, providing a platform to propose discussion topics, exchange ideas, share references, and build new connections and collaborations.

CIMAM Connects continues to foster informal yet insightful gatherings among members. In its second year, members are shaping a dynamic program filled with relevant topics for museum directors and curators of modern and contemporary art.

Ramiro invites CIMAM members to continue the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie established during the Annual Conference by creating a space for ongoing engagement, knowledge-sharing, and future planning.

This session will be an opportunity to discuss the key takeaways from the CIMAM 2024 Annual Conference in Los Angeles, which explored sustainability through a holistic lens. Participants delved into sustainability from multiple perspectives, including conservation practices within modern and contemporary art museums, museum architecture and its role in urban contexts, financial and governance systems that can sustain cultural institutions and indigenous perspectives and knowledge as a philosophy for understanding humanity’s place in the world and our relationship with other living beings and the environment.

Even if you couldn’t attend the conference, you can now access all the presentation recordings on CIMAM TV. As a CIMAM member, we warmly invite you to contribute to this discussion, sharing your perspectives and expertise on the vital topic of sustainability.
