Biographies
Diane Drubay
Diane Drubay has been working towards the transformation of museums and the arts internationally since 2007. Founder of We Are Museums, a community-powered think-tank on the future of museums that are good for people and the Planet, Diane is also a visual artist nudging for nature awareness and better futures. She is now Head of Arts and Culture at TZ Connect, the Tezos hub in Berlin, where she facilitates collaboration and leads strategy around web3 future prototyping across arts and culture including the program dedicated to museums WAC-Lab.
Frances Liddell
Frances Liddell is a researcher, writer, advisor, and lecturer working at the intersection of museum practice and web3 technologies. Her PhD research was one of the first pieces of empirical research done on museum theory and NFTs. In partnership with National Museums Liverpool, it explored how this technology might challenge our understanding of ownership, authority, authenticity, and social value. Her current research focuses primarily on the themes of value, shared guardianship, and psychological ownership. Outside of research, Frances is a lecturer in Cultural Practices at University of Manchester, UK, she also teaches the ‘Blockchains, Cryptocurrencies & NFTs’ MA course elective at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, UK. In addition, Frances is a research fellow at the Arts & Antiquities Blockchain Consortium.
Marcella Lista
With a PhD in Art History, Marcella Lista is, since 2016, Chief Curator of the New Media Collection at the National Museum of Modern Art – Centre Pompidou, Paris. Her work deals with experimental artistic practices involving film and video, installation, dance and performance. She was previously Associate Professor in History of Art in Université de Limoges and Head of Programs of the Auditorium of the Louvre Museum in Paris, where she has notably launched a series of contemporary art projects. She has recently published, with Erika Balsom, the book Eric Baudelaire. To Make With (Paris, Paraguay, 2022) and curated Hassan Khan. Blind Ambition (Paris, Centre Pompidou) and Saodat Ismailova. Double Horizon (Tourcoing, Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains). Together with her curator colleague Philippe Bettinelli, she has developed a collection of art works dealing with the blockchain technology, which will be presented in the Centre Pompidou from April 2023 to January 2024.
Tamar Clarke-Brown
Tamar Clarke-Brown is a London based curator, writer and artist. Her interdisciplinary work centres alternative mythologies, intimate choreographies and diasporic practices with a special focus on empowering underrepresented and overlooked imaginaries. Tamar is Curator (Commissions), Arts Technologies, Serpentine and is currently working on the project Third World: The Bottom Dimension with multidisciplinary digital artist Gabriel Massan, a disorienting and multilevel worldbuilding game, exhibition, and accompanying Web3 strategy that explores contemporary Black Brazilian experiences and challenges colonialist concepts of exploration, nature and knowledge.
Alfredo Cramerotti
Born in Italy in the late 1970s, Dr Alfredo Cramerotti grew up surrounded by art and culture, and after completing his studies in technology, philosophy and aesthetics, he embarked on a journey that would take him to work as a curator, writer, publisher, and producer, collaborating with some of the most visionary artists and thinkers of his time. He directs Mostyn contemporary art museum in the UK; leads the IKT international Association of Contemporary Art Curators and the digital strategies of AICA International Association of Art Critics; advises the UK Government Art Collection, the British Council Visual Arts Acquisition Committee and the Italian Ministry of Culture for its 2022-24 programme.
He curated major exhibitions for biennials and institutions such as four national pavilions and collateral events at the Venice Biennale, Hong Kong Arts Centre; EXPO Chicago, and the biennials Sequences VII in Reykjavik, Iceland and Manifesta 8, Region of Murcia, Spain. He also works as independent curator in digital, crypto, immersive and generative/AI art, co-directing IAM-Infinity Art Museum (launching Summer 2023), a commissioning contemporary art museum on the blockchain, and Multiplicity-XXNFT, a publishing and curatorial platform focusing on the work and value of diversity in digital arts and culture.
Rapid Response Webinars allow CIMAM members to continue discussing the most urgent concerns and questions affecting the modern and contemporary art museum community at this time. This initiative responds to CIMAM’s spirit and commitment to be a platform for global discussion, a space for sharing and connecting, learning, and encouraging cooperation.
Rapid Response Webinars are free of cost for CIMAM members. Non-Members can attend by paying 10,00€ that will be deducted from their membership fee if they join CIMAM in the next 3 months.
