ARTISTS at RISK (AR)
RESIDENCIES IN MANY EUROPEAN CITIES AND BEYOND.
ARTISTS at RISK (AR) is a non-profit network institution at the intersection of human rights and the arts. AR is dedicated to mapping the field of persecuted art practitioners, facilitating their safe passage from their countries of origin, hosting them at AR-Residencies and curating related projects, including the AR Pavilion.
Artists, writers, curators, critics and scholars are targets of politically motivated threats and persecution in great parts of the world. Perpetuum Mobile (PM) initiated Artists at Risk (AR) as a platform and network to support these art practitioners in times of need. This encompasses enabling their safe exit from countries of origin, the procurement of travel documents, providing legal assistance, and matching ARs with “AR-Residencies”. The AR-Network comprises a growing number of local nodes. Since 2013, it has created over 25 AR-Residencies for artists across 19 countries – from Finland, Germany and Spain to Tunisia and the Ivory Coast – offering temporary relocation for artists who face persecution or imprisonment for exercising their right to freedom of expression. The programme has assisted artists from Brazil, Syria, Vietnam, Egypt and Kenya, among many other countries.
AR welcomes applications from art-practitioners from all over the world. We will make every effort to find translation for eligible applicants. We are working on providing our web-pages in several languages. Submissions are possible in all major languages. Nevertheless, for reasons of cost and speed, we strongly prefer English.

Estonian Academy of Arts
Eesti Kunstiakadeemia / Estonian Academy of Arts offers Ukrainian students free study opportunities at our four faculties of Fine Arts, Design, Architecture, and Art Culture until the situation in their country stabilises.
The study spots are provided by semester and enable students to continue their studies at several international curricula: fine art, animation, photography, architecture, urban studies, interior architecture, interaction design, graphic design, design and crafts and cultural heritage (in English) and media graphics (in Russian). Both MA and BA level students are welcome to apply.
EKA supports organising housing for the spring semester 2022. Additional help with land transportation will be organised.

Residency for Ukrainian artists. OPEN CALL! Emergency residency program for Ukrainian artists and families from the war zone. As an emergency, we can host until three artists (FLINT*) with their families for one month (between April – June) for free.
Projektraum Coswig is a space dedicated to the experimentation, research, and dissemination of artistic practices in which both local and international artists come together, located in the historic center of Coswig (Anhalt), on the banks of the Elbe River, in Germany. Projektraum Coswig has two shared dormitory rooms, a living room, a bathroom, a kitchen, creative workspaces, a patio, and a large garden.
The stays are aimed at all those people: groups of artists, curators, researchers, creators from any field, be it performing arts, plastic arts, literature, dance, technology, scientists, and others who want to develop their project in an inspiring environment and in nature.

We are inviting artists in the areas of the visual and performing arts, film-making, research, sound or any other disciplines to be part of the program that take place in Bucharest, Cluj, and Timisoara starting Feb 24th.
