Welcome to CIMAM to Pilar Rubí Risco!

"Although the digital world has shortened distances in general, and today it is easier than ever to meet electronically, it is also true that in the post-pandemic world, the need to meet in person and create physical spaces where one can meet and be able to collectively discuss the issues that concern us and concern us, have become essential. Our activity within museums shares a common space and is crossed by the same problems that affect citizens from any part of our small world: the climate emergency, migratory movements, equal rights, war conflicts and the need for live dignified lives. From the imaginaries that art creates, we can contribute to thinking about how to move forward in the same direction, making institutional practices capable of generating the spaces of care that we need and working to make another model of contemporary art museum possible".
Pilar Rubí Risco, Head of Public Programs, Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani, Palma, Spain.
"For my professional development, it is very important to know how and where to explore contemporary societies to understand their needs, contribute to their development and see what discourses the new models of sustainable living will have to be based on, which museums will also go through. From the peripheries, feeling part of that work network that CIMAM seeks and shares, is a priority".
