We are happy to welcome Anna Panfilets to CIMAM!
"As a curator working from a mediation perspective and interested in institutional challenges in the international field, I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed CIMAM members. I will be delighted to contribute to discussions, research, and collaborative efforts aimed at shaping the future of curatorial work and cultural mediation on a global scale. I plan to further develop my international curatorial and academic career. I am interested in joining CIMAM's working groups that focus on learning, exchange, cooperation, and support for curatorial and professional development".
Anna Panfilets, Independent Curator, Canggu, Indonesia.
"At present, I am engaged in uniting Russian-speaking migrants on the island of Bali in Indonesia, and in cultural mediation between emigrant artists and local institutions. My work aims at the smooth integration of migrants into the local culture as well as building new social connections and communities through educational projects".
About Anna
Anna Panfilets began her museum career while studying Western European and Russian Culture at Saint Petersburg State University (2002–2007). While working as Head of Art Mediation Department at V-A-C Foundation in Moscow, Anna continued her professional development. In 2017, she received a diploma as a specialist in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities using museum resources. This allowed Mrs. Panfilets to develop an inclusive approach at the institutional level, bringing in leading experts in this field to consult on architectural and program accessibility. In 2018, Anna Panfilets created the Faculty of Mediation training program, and in 2021, as part of the curatorial team, she participated in the opening of the new institution, the GES-2 House of Culture in Moscow. The Mediation department created by Anna Panfilets seeks to engage all participants and encourage respectful dialogue between them, regardless of experience, views, or age.
