The Board of Directors wishes to inform the membership of CIMAM of the need to modify the current Bylaws in order to bring them up to date and improve the operations of CIMAM. To this end, the Board has prepared a draft proposal and in order to promote maximum participation, all CIMAM members are invited to examine the proposed new Bylaws and submit any comments before Tuesday, 7 November 2017 24:00 CET.
The proposed Bylaws along with comments from the membership will be discussed and debated during the 2017 General Assembly, the governing body of CIMAM, which will take place on Sunday, November 12, from 14:15 to 16:15 hrs in Singapore during the Annual Conference. The aim of this discussion at the General Assembly is to ensure the participation of the membership in these important changes, which are made in the context of CIMAM’s commitment to the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums as the guiding principle.
The Board looks forward to this important discussion and encourages the participation of all members by submitting their comments by email and attending the General Assembly. The final and definitive version of the updated Bylaws will then be approved by the Board of Directors, circulated to the membership and formally put to a vote for approval at an Extraordinary General Assembly in 2018.
