Thanks to the support of The Getty Foundation in Los Angeles and the Open Society Institute, CIMAM awarded 19 grants to support the attendance of young professionals from emerging countries and countries in the Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia), Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan), Mongolia, Iran, and/or Afghanistan to CIMAM’s 2007 Annual Conference Contemporary Institutions as Producers in Late Capitalism, held in Vienna on 20–21 August 2007.
